Consumer demands, the rapid evolution of markets, competition, techniques, products and services force companies to make a permanent effort to adapt, anticipate and make choices. Activity and employment depend increasingly on the collective capacity to acquire, share, master and use information and knowledge, and to pool them in order to exploit them.

Within the “Boulogne-sur-Mer, la mer en direct” collective, the attraction, urban planning and economic development agency, Boulogne-sur-Mer Développement Côte d’Opale, is developing a global strategy for the animation, communication and promotion of the entire seafood products sector WITH and FOR the professionals.
The collective, thanks to its positioning and its neutrality, is a connector between the actors. It participates in the territorial animation.

What are the targets?

General public and professionals

How will your project contribute to promoting the gastronomy of the Hauts-de-France region?

It is by knowing the product well that we can sublimate it by cooking it. Our territory and its 120 km of coastline give us an exceptional range of seafood products with multiple and sometimes ancestral know-how (sea salting for example). Boulogne-sur-Mer, the leading fishing port in France and European center for the processing and development of seafood products, concentrates on the same site all the players in the fisheries sector, from the construction of fishing tools to the consumption of products, including research, training and innovation…

This sector, which is the real economic lung of the territory, promotes the products through its collective “Boulogne-sur-Mer, la mer en direct”, by organizing culinary events during multiple events in order to sublimate the products and explain to the greatest number of people the nutritional benefits of seafood products for health, sustainable consumption, etc…
